ERIK K WONG DMD
graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2009 and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society - Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He went on to complete a three-year residency program at the University of California, San Francisco where he earned a certificate in Prosthodontics - the dental specialty of restoring missing, broken, and worn teeth, and treating jaw joint and bite problems. Dr. Wong spent the next few years working in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as being fortunate enough to treat our nation's veterans while working for the VA Palo Alto Health Care System. In April 2016, Dr. Wong returned home to Maui, where he was born and raised, and joined our prosthodontics practice. With a lifelong passion for learning he completed the Pankey Institute’s Essential courses (I-IV) and regularly attends other CE courses year round. Dr. Wong is the co-director of the Maui Postgraduate Dental Forum - an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club, and previously served as the President for the Maui County Dental Society (2020). He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Hawaii Dental Association, and American College of Prosthodontists.
PETER H FAY DMD (RETIRED)
graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in 1981. He then completed a one-year general practice residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, followed by a two-year specialty residency in Prosthodontics at the University of Texas and VA Hospital in Houston. Since arriving on Maui in 1984, Dr. Fay has taken thousands of hours of continuing education courses and has lectured to different groups of dentists and other health care professionals on various dental topics all across the country as well as internationally. Dr. Fay is a Teaching Assistant at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education in Key Biscayne, Florida – the world’s premier post graduate dental education facility. He is also an Instructor with the Growth Into Greatness Institute – a dental practice management organization. Dr. Fay is also the director of the Maui Postgraduate Dental Forum - a group of 24 local dentists who meet monthly to keep abreast of the continuing advances in dentistry.
NORINE KALAIWAA RDH
graduated from the University of Hawaii’s Dental Hygiene School in 1980. She spent the next eight years working in a Honolulu periodontal dental practice as a surgical assistant and hygienist. Norine has been our practice’s hygienist since she returned home to Maui in 1988.
LISHA MARTELLES
Our financial assistant and business manager since 1991 and is in charge of all the non-clinical areas of our practice.
DOLLY FONTANILLA
Our clinical assistant, has been Dr. Fay’s chairside assistant since 1986. She is also our in-house lab technician and creates many of the gold restorations and porcelain crowns we make for our patients.
HEATHER GOMES
Our cross trained assistant that helps out with both clinical and non-clinical areas of our practice.
MARIA ADAMS
Our newest family member and trained dental assistant. She brings in positive energy and a wealth of knowledge.
